Bir isim tümcesi, bu fiillerden birini takip ettiğinde tümcedeki fiil hiçbir koşulda değişikliğe uğramadan yalın halinde kullanılır

Gelecek, geçmiş, şimdiki zamanla kullanılmaz.

 

 

·         I ask (that) she come comes here.[A1] 

 

·         I asked (that) she come came here.[A2] 

 

Bu tümceleri oluşturmak için “that”  kullanılabilir. 

Aynı zamanda cümleden çıkarıldığında herhangi bir anlam bozukluğu meydana gelmez. 

 

His mother insisted (that) he be at home at eight[A3] .              

 

The staff requested (that) he reconsider his decision.[A4]                                                     The teacher ordered (that) the students stop talking[A5] .                 

 

The general commanded that the regiment attack atonce[A6] .                                             The lawyer suggested that he write it into the contract.[A7]                                                  The inspector urged that he read this report carefully.[A8]                                                                                                                                       

 

It is crucial that you be there before Tom arrives. [A9] It is important that she attend the meeting.[A10] It is vital that nobody else know the truth.[A11] It is obligatory that every man join the army when 20.[A12] It is advisable that he stay at home[A13] .

 

NEGATIVE EXAMPLES:

The boss insisted that Sam not be at the meeting. [A14] The company asked that employees not accept personal phone calls during business hours.[A15] I suggest that you not take the job without asking the salary.[A16] 
 

PASSIVE EXAMPLES:

Doctors recommend that all the children be immunized against the measles.[A17]       Jake recommended that Susan be hired immediately. [A18] He demanded that I be allowed to take part in the negotiations[A19] .We suggested that you be admitted to the organization. [A20] 
 

CONTINUOUS EXAMPLES:

It is important that you be standing there when he gets off theplane.[A21] It is crucial that a car be waiting for the boss when the meeting is over.[A22] 
  
 

“Should” as Subjunctive

"suggest," "recommend" ve "insist" fillerinden sonra genelde British English’de “should “ kullanılmaktadır.

The doctor recommended that she should see a specialist about the problem.[A23] Professor William suggested that Wilma should study harder for the final exam.[A24]
